MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State starter German Fajardo struck out 10 and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, as the Wildcats used a three-run bottom of the third to fend off Wichita State 3-1 on Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium.
Fajardo (4-1) pitched brilliantly against the Shockers for a second time this season, following up on five scoreless innings in a victory over Wichita State on April 18. He allowed just one baserunner on a hit by pitch through the first five innings, then stranded a pair of runners in the sixth after Couper Cornblum broke up the no-hitter with a single and Brock Rodden drew a two-out walk.
