LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Four Kansas pitchers held Wichita State to five hits as the Jayhawks shut out the Shockers 4-0 on Wednesday evening at Hoglund Ballpark.
Ethan Bradford (1-1) went the first 5.1 innings to earn the win, striking out four while walking one and allowing two hits. Thaniel Trumper got a pair of outs to end the sixth, then Stone Hewlett worked the next 2.1 before Kolby Dougan retired the final two hitters to end it.
All the offense in the game came on two swings. The Jayhawks (7-4) got a three-run homer from Jake English in the bottom of the second and a solo home run from Janson Reeder in the bottom of the fourth that produced the final margin.
