LINCOLN, Neb. – The Wichita State women's tennis team's late rally fell short on Friday evening, as they dropped their match to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 4-1, at Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
Nebraska improves to 3-0 on the year with the home win. WSU is now 1-2 with both losses coming to Power Four opponents.
Nebraska sprinted to an early advantage in doubles, taking multi-game leads at courts two and three. These early leads were what decided the point, as Anne Knuettel and Sati Aubakirova fell 6-2 at court three, and Theodora Chantava and Kristina Kudryavtseva fell 6-4 at court two to give doubles to the Huskers.
