Shocker baseball falls to Houston

Wichita State baseball had a tough weekend as they lost to Houston in a three game series, putting them at 26-12 overall record and 4-8 in the American Athletic Conference.

Game one on Friday came with some challenges from the beginning, and WSU scored their only run in the third inning while Houston put up two in the first.

Junior pitcher Codi Heuer went for eight innings and collected four strikeouts, but it didn’t compare to Houston’s starter with a total of nine after eight innings and only one walk.

The top of the third helped the Shockers put up a run after senior Trey Vickers singled to left field and was out at second, but junior Jordan Boyer was still able to score.
