Wichita State's Taryn Torgerson walked off the green for the last time as a college golfer and into the best celebration of her career.
Mom, dad and brother. Grandparents. Teammates. Coaches. They were all there at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla. Torgerson, a senior from Buhler, Kan., won the American Athletic Conference championship in a playoff on Tuesday, after shooting an 8-under-par 64 to set the championship record.
"It's been a dream come true," she said. "To have all that black and yellow following me the last three days was very special and something I'll definitely remember.
