Wichita State's Izzi Strand believes she possesses abnormally bendy wrists and that helps her back set more accurately and at the proper speed.
"Back set is actually my favorite set my entire life," she said. "Most setters don't like setting back, because it's the hardest one to do because you can't see where you're setting to. I think the challenge is what I like the most."
Opposite Sophia Rohling is one of the big beneficiaries of Strand's flexible wrists and love of the back set. With Strand heating up with her middle blockers, that set is often open for Rohling.
