RH: Asinde Sets Season High With 21 Points

The third quarter started with an East Carolina turnover and a Wichita State score. Then another turnover and another Shockers basket.

Wichita State owned the third quarter, just like it planned, on its way to a 70-55 win over the Pirates on Tuesday at Koch Arena. The Shockers (11-7, 2-3 American Athletic Conference) outscored ECU 18-6 in the third, largely by forcing eight turnovers and holding the Pirates to 3-of-17 shooting.

"We came out in the third quarter and set the tone early," coach Keitha Adams said. "Good win. Much-needed win."

ECU (8-11, 1-5) never recovered from the first seven minutes after halftime.
