WICHITA—Zack Penrod and Rebekah Topham represented the Shockers in an elite field at the Trials of Miles Kansas City Qualifier on Saturday night in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Penrod ran in the 1,500 meters. He took seventh in a field full of pro athletes with a time of 3:43.97.
Penrod is currently No. 85 in the NCAA from his performance at the John McDonnell Invitational with a time of 3:43.39. He is in qualifying position at No. 45 in the West and leads the AAC in the event.
Rebekah Topham ran in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in a field that included seven athletes running under 10 minutes.
