SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Redshirt junior Zack Penrod advanced to Saturday's 1500m quarterfinals of the NCAA West Regional, Friday night at Hornet Stadium.
The 2019 American Athletic Conference 1500m champion finished eighth in heat four with a time of 3:45.33. With the top-5 from each heat automatically qualifying to the quarterfinals, it left only four spots to the next four best times in order to qualify. Penrod's 3:45.33 was just fast enough to earn him the last spot to the quarterfinals on Saturday at 8:45 p.m. CT.
Sophomore Rayvon Allen led the Shockers as the top field event finisher placing 16th overall in men's long jump with a leap of 7.
