Palen Named First Team All-American, Masters in Seventh after Day One of NCAA Heptathlon

EUGENE, Ore. – Wichita State's Brady Palen was named First Team All-American for his eight-place performance in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday at Hayward Field.

The senior from Beloit, Kan. cleared 2.17m/7'1.5" on second attempt to secure his second First Team All-America award. His eighth-place finish is the second-highest NCAA outdoor men's high jump finish in Shocker history behind Temoer Terry's 6th-place performance in 1974. Palen is now a two-time First Team All-American with an addition All-America honorable mention from the 2023 outdoor championships.
