EUGENE, Ore. -- Wichita State All-American Damien Odle placed ninth in the javelin at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Monday at Hayward Field with a throw of 231-3/70.49m.
His first throw was 217-0/66.15m, and his third throw was 222-4/67.78m.
On Saturday, Odle advanced with a throw of 234-4/71.44m, which was good enough for 10th place and a berth in today's competition.
On Sunday, former Wichita State All-American and Wichita native Austin Bahner placed eighth in the Decathlon with 7,776 points after two days of competition.
Bahner moved up four spots overall during Sunday's competition, placing highest in the discus and pole vault with third-place in each.
