Northern Iowa ends Wichita State’s nation’s-best home winning streak

Wichita State’s 43-game home win streak ended at the hands of a familiar Koch Arena pest.

Northern Iowa knocked off the 25th-ranked Shockers 53-50 on Saturday at Koch Arena, ending the school-record streak.

More important, it is WSU’s second loss in three games and won’t help its NCAA Tournament resume. The Shockers (18-7, 12-2 Missouri Valley Conference) lost at home for the first time since 2013, a streak that included three games Intrust Bank Arena.

The Panthers (16-11, 8-6) won for the sixth time at Koch Arena, since 2003, most of any opponent.

WSU’s Connor Frankamp missed a corner three-pointer in the final seconds.
