It is not often an expansion team enters with championship credentials. When it's Wichita State bowling the norms don't apply.

On July 1, Wichita State adds one of the nation's top programs to its roster of NCAA sports. Women's bowling, long a national power and pioneering force in the sport, owns 11 Intercollegiate Team Championship titles. In April, the Shockers won the ITC title by defeating Jacksonville State, the 2024 NCAA champion.

Holly Harris will remain coach of the Shockers, who will compete in Conference USA, the nation's top bowling conference. The 2024 NCAA Final Four consisted of Conference USA members Jacksonville State, Arkansas State, Sam Houston State and Youngstown State.
