WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State women's tennis team had their winning streak snapped on Monday afternoon with a 4-1 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes at Genesis Rock Road.
The Shockers dropped to 4-5 with the loss. Iowa improved to 6-3 with the win.
Iowa came out firing to start the match, resulting in the Hawkeyes taking the doubles point. Sati Aubakiorva and fell 6-3 at court three while and fell 7-5 at court one, giving the Hawkeyes the early lead.
In singles, it was Knuettel striking first, winning 6-2, 6-4 at court six to tie the match at 1-1, but the Hawkeyes responded with near-simultaneous wins at court four and five to take a 3-1 lead.
