BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Adria Navajon dominated the heptathlon, landing atop the podium for the third-consecutive American Athletic Conference multi-event competition Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Navajon led the Shocker men to a fourth-place team finish, just 0.5 points behind third, scoring 17 of their 102 points, while the Wichita State women placed 10th as a team with 25.75 points.
Cincinnati won its first men's team title and UCF repeated as women's team champions with 143 and 132.25 points, respectively.
The sophomore from Barcelona, Spain scored 5,641 heptathlon points over the two-day competition, recording top marks in five of the seven events.
