Box Score DALLAS – The Wichita State women's tennis team fell on the road to the Mustangs of SMU, 0-4 on Friday afternoon at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
The Shockers (5-4) saw their two-match winning streak come to an end, while SMU (3-4) has now won back-to-back matches.
"It was a very competitive match despite the final score line," head coach Colin Foster said. "We played well in doubles, but just came up short and had some close first sets in singles that didn't go our way."
The Mavericks took a hotly contested doubles point after defeating Natsumi Kurahashi and Xin Tong Wang at court one, 7-5, and Giorgia Roselli and Theodora Chantava 6-3 at court three, to snag the always important point.
