WICHITA – Wichita State track and field earned three of the American Athletic Conference's four final weekly awards of the outdoor season, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
claimed his first AAC weekly award, being named Men's Track Athlete of the Week, after his personal-best performance in the 400-meter hurdles at the Shocker Open. The freshman from Olathe, Kan. moved up to fifth in the AAC with his time of 51.61 and put himself in position to qualify for the NCAA First Rounds, ranking 29th in the west region.
Destiny Masters gave the Shockers a sweep of the track awards as the Women's Track Athlete of the Week, running 13.
