BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Destiny Masters earned her first indoor conference medal, and the men's distance medley relay placed third to highlight the first day of the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Masters placed second in the pentathlon with four top-five marks to earn a spot on the podium with a total of 3,958 points behind Tulane's Kristen O'Handley, who broke the meet record in the event with 4,175 points. The sophomore earned all-conference recognition for her performance.
After day one of the men's heptathlon, Adria Navajon, the reigning indoor and outdoor multi-event conference champion, leads the field with 3,166 points, recording the top marks in three of four events.
