AWENDAW, S.C. – Dawson Lewis carded five birdies and a 1-over-par, 73 to lead the Wichita State men's golf team in the first of three days of competition at the Hootie at Bulls Bay.
The field of 16 schools includes 11 NCAA regional qualifiers from 2019 (the last year of postseason play).
The Shockers were plus-1 at the midway point but surrendered seven more strokes on the back-nine to slip to 15th-place.
Lewis (73, +1) is tied for 37th in a field of 96 individual golfers.
Marcus Wocher (74, +2) and Zac Owens (74, +2) are part of a group that's tied for 47th.
