Wichita State women's tennis coach Colin Foster announced the promotion of former Shocker Alexandra Lazarova to assistant coach.
A native of Roznava, Slovakia, Lazarova was a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete during her four-year career at WSU (2017-21). As a freshman she helped the Shockers to a first-round NCAA tournament victory and a No. 32 national ranking.
Lazarova served as an undergraduate assistant this past fall while finishing up her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She minored in Sport Management and also earned certificates in Physical Education Fitness and Physical Education Weight Training.
Foster said:
"As is the case with many of the outstanding ladies that come through our program – I was able to watch as Alex transformed from a quiet freshman who at times lacked confidence into one of our leaders who always left everything on the court.
