CHARLESTON, S.C. - A late seventh inning rally was not enough to lift the Wichita State softball team in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. The Shockers dropped their second game of the season, falling to Pitt 4-2 at Patriots Point.
Ryleigh Buck came up with her first triple of the season, scoring a run in the process and leading the team with nine putouts. Bailey Lange came up with five strikeouts in six innings pitched in the circle.
Pitt came close to jumping ahead in the first three innings, but three strikeouts from Bailey Lange allowed the Shockers to keep the score knotted at zero.
