Kansas State’s Shadae Lawrence won the women’s discus and Nina Schultz finished second in the heptathlon during the final day of competition at the NCAA outdoor championships in Eugene, Ore.
The K-State women finished in ninth place in the team standings with 25 points. Oregon won the team title with 64 points, giving Oregon’s women a sweep of the cross country, indoor and outdoor titles.
Lawrence, a sophomore from St. Catherine, Jamaica, threw the discus 201 feet, 4 inches on her final attempt to move her into the lead. Lawrence threw the discus at seven meets this spring and won all seven, including the Big 12 meet with a personal best of 205-4.
