WICHITA, Kan. – American Athletic Conference heptathlon champion Ben Johnson travels to Birmingham, Ala., to compete at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9.
Johnson is making his first NCAA Championships appearance, after setting a qualifying score of 5,705 points winning the American Athletic Conference heptathlon title on Feb. 23.
"I've never been to a national meet before, I'm really excited," said Johnson. "I know there is going to be really good competition every single event in the heptathlon…I'm sitting ninth right now, first team All-American is top-8 and that is the goal, to end up on the podium.
