‘It’s a new day in college athletics:’ How WSU plans to manage new NIL policy

For the first time in the history of college athletics, student-athletes were able to profit off their name, image, and likeness starting on Thursday.

Some WSU athletes have already announced some partnerships with companies. Men’s basketball players Dexter Dennis and Morris Udeze announced a partnership with Yoke Gaming, where they will be able to connect with fans through video games. Freshman guard Chaunce Jenkins also announced a partnership with Gopuff, a food and drink delivery service.

Wichita State Athletic Director of Athletics Darron Boatright said they are supportive of their student-athletes beginning to profit through this new NIL policy, approved on Wednesday.
