NICEVILLE, Fla.— Wichita State tennis student-athletes Haru Inoue and Eddi Stoica competed in the final qualifying round of the Niceville Futures at the Bluewater Bay tennis Club Monday.
Stoica, a junior from New Zealand, reached the round of 16 in his first futures event of the season. He faced Paul Jubb of South Carolina in the final qualifying round. Stoica battled in the first set, and came up short losing 6-3. In the second set, Jubb won 6-0 to eliminate Stoica. On the weekend, Stoica went 3-1, defeating Hussein Elalami (USA), 6-3, 6-3 in the first round.
