WICHITA, Kan. – Senior Samajae Haynes-Jones drove to the basket and converted a reverse layup with less than a second remaining in regulation to lift Wichita State to an 85-83 victory over the SMU Mustangs Wednesday, Jan. 30, inside Charles Koch Arena.
Wichita State (9-11, 2-6 American) is scheduled to host Tulsa Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPNU.
Haynes-Jones and Erik Stevenson netted 17 points apiece, leading five Shockers in double figures, while Markis McDuffie had 15, Jaime Echenique poured in 13, and Asbjørn Midtgaard netted a career-high 10 points.
