WICHITA, Kan. – Oakland scored in five of the final six innings, including three multi-run frames, defeating Wichita State 12-7 on Friday night at Eck Stadium.
Wichita State starter Clark Candiotti (0-2) cruised through the first three innings, allowing just one hit while holding Oakland (2-6) off the board. But the Oakland offense came alive in the fourth, scoring three times to take a 3-2 lead. The big blow was a two-run double off the bat of Jared Miller, who finished with a team-high-tying three RBI.
After David Herring tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, Oakland blew the game open with a four-run fifth.
