TOPEKA, Kan. – Joakim Genereux and Jaleel Montgomery put up 12 points apiece for the Shockers in the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular, tying Kansas's TJ Robinson for the men's High Point Award. Wichita State men and women combined for 198 points, just six points behind Kansas State, while Kansas won its first Triangular since 2019 with 268 points.
Genereux and Montgomery led the Shockers on the track with strong season-opening times, claiming the top two spots in both the 60 meters and 200 meters. Genereux won the 200 meters in 21.55 with Montgomery behind him in 21.
