WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State trailed 12-1 into the bottom of the seventh inning but brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth in a 13-10 loss to Kansas State on Wednesday night at Eck Stadium.
It appeared Wichita State was well on their way to a lopsided defeat as the Wildcats (20-8) scored seven runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and four more in the seventh, highlighted by a pair of home runs and five RBI from Dee Kennedy. But the Shockers (10-18) found the range against the Kansas State bullpen; doubled in two runs in the seventh and followed with an RBI double of his own later in the inning that cut the lead to 12-4.
