TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts scored eight times in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 5-3 deficit, knocking off Wichita State 11-6 on Tuesday night at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
Wichita State (2-7) had surged in front in the top of the fifth inning when Sawyre Thornhill crushed a two-out grand slam to left-center, giving the Shockers their first lead of the game at 5-3. But the Golden Eagles (6-2) stormed back in the sixth, as the first nine batters to come to the plate all reached base. Jackson Loftin homered on the first pitch of the inning to make it 5-4, and four batters later Holden Breeze lined a two-run double to left to give Oral Roberts the lead back at 6-5.
