Wichita State senior Jaime Echenique was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 24 second team on Monday.
Echenique – a 6-foot-11 center from Barranquilla, Colombia -- was the team's leading scorer (11.3), rebounder (7.1) and shot-blocker (1.6). The latter ranked fourth on the American Athletic Conference leaderboard. Two weeks ago he was named second team all-conference.
District 24 consists of American Athletic Conference schools. Ballots are cast by each of the districts' 12 head coaches.
