2020 graduate Jaime Echenique has signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards via the NBA Hardship Exception provision, the club announced Thursday evening.
The 6-foot-11 Barranquilla native is poised to become the first Columbian ever to appear in an NBA regular season game.
He's the seventh WSU product to make an active roster since 2013, joining Gal Mekel (2013), Toure' Murry (2013), Cleanthony Early (2014), Ron Baker (2016), Fred VanVleet (2016) and Landry Shamet (2018).
Echenique has played in 14 games this year for the Wizards' G-League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, averaging 12.
