TULSA, Okla. – Wichita State junior Murkel Dellien's historic run came to an end Sunday in the semifinals of ITA Central Regionals at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Dellien, who compiled a 4-1 record at the regional, took on Iowa's Kareem Allaf in what was a battle until the final point. In the end, Allaf came out ahead, winning 7-6 (3), 1-6, 6-2.
In the first, Dellien and Allaf traded games early, before going to a tiebreaker. Allaf jumped out to a big lead in the tiebreaker to take the set (7-6(3).
