WICHITA, Kan. – Freshman Carson Cox hit a double in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a scoreless tie and eventually lead the Black Team to a 2-0 win over the Yellow Team in game one of the Wichita State University Baseball Fall World Series Thursday, Oct. 18, at Eck Stadium.
With the win, the Black Team gains a 1-0 edge in the best-of-three series.
Sophomore Hunter Gibson led-off the bottom-half of the seventh with a double down the right field line before crossing home plate on Cox's double down the left field line to put Black in front, 1-0.
