NEW ORLEANS, La. – Tulane scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase an early deficit and held off Wichita State the rest of the way for an 8-6 win on Saturday night at Turchin Stadium.

The Shockers (8-14, 1-1) took a 3-0 lead into the fourth inning thanks to a run-scoring wild pitch in the second and a two-out, two-run triple from in the third, but could not slow down the Tulane attack in the fourth. The combination of starter and reliever hit four Green Wave batters, walked another with the bases loaded, and eventually allowed a grand slam to Jackson Linn that turned the 3-0 lead into an 8-3 deficit.
