EMPORIA, Kan. - Senior Tyra Bickham and junior Aaron True each started the 2018 outdoor season by winning their respected main events.
True a native of Leroy, Kan., led the strong group of Shocker throwers in the javelin by winning the event with a mark of 69.18m/227-0. All-American Damien Odle followed behind in third place (66.18m/217-1) and true freshman Taran Taylor rounded out the top five finishing fifth with a mark of 65.55m/215-1. John Hoplin finished eighth with a mark of 63.
