ST. LOUIS -- Wichita State's Jared Belardo was named a co-Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
Belardo's long jump of 25-4.5 (7.73m) at the K.T. Woodman Track and Field Classic won the event and also tied for 16th-best in the country to date.
He also won the triple jump with a distance of 52-6.5 (16.01m), which ranks No. 2 in the NCAA West Region and No. 7 in the NCAA to date. The jump is also second-best in Shocker history behind All-American Randy Lewis' triple jump of 55-1.
