WICHITA, Kan. – Three Cincinnati pitchers held Wichita State to two total hits, as the Bearcats completed the three-game sweep with a 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium.
Tristan Weaver (4-3) went the first five innings for the Bearcats, giving up one single in the second inning to and one in the fourth to . Zach Segal then tossed three hitless, scoreless innings of relief, and Max Bergmann worked a 1-2-3 ninth to complete the shutout. Wichita State did not advance a runner to third base in the game.
The defeat spoiled another sterling effort on the mound from Wichita State starter (3-1) who allowed just two runs over seven innings, striking out six and conceding only four singles.
