Nearly two-thirds of all Wichita State student-athletes received academic honors from the American Athletic Conference Thursday, and for the third-consecutive year the Shocker men's golf team was singled out for a Team Academic Excellence Award.
In order to make the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA for the school year. Out of the 255 student-athletes in the WSU athletic department, 167 reached that threshold (65.5 percent).
Shocker golfers combined to post a 3.699 GPA to earn the conference's Men's Golf Team Academic Excellence Award for the third-straight time.
Team Academic Excellence Award selections are made by faculty athletics representatives from around the league.
