KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon, as Akron beat the Broncos 5-2 at Sorensen Courts.

The Broncos fall to 9-10 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) while Akron, who has an amazing 21-match winning streak, improved to 22-2 and 6-0 in the MAC.
Akron claimed the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The Zips carried the momentum over into singles play, winning the first four matches off the board to clinch the win and take a 5-0 lead.
