KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team opened the Mid-American Conference (MAC) season on the road with a tough Ball State team Friday afternoon and the Cardinals came out victorious 4-3 with the match coming right down to the end. The Broncos fall to 11-6 overall and 0-1 in the MAC while the Cardinals improved to 13-2 and 1-0 in the MAC.
"We didn't play doubles the way we can and that ultimately cost us the match," head coach Ryan Tomlinson said. "Credit to Ball State today, they played well. We have to come out and compete hard on Sunday and put today behind us.
