KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team bounced back from a touch loss at Notre Dame on Sunday, Jan. 20, defeating the DePaul Blue Demons inside West Hills Athletic Club, 6-1.
The victory marks the first over DePaul in over a decade and snaps a six-game losing skid in the all-time series, with the last Bronco victory over the Blue Demons dating back to Feb. 16, 2007 in Chicago, Ill.
The match got off to a nail-biting start with the doubles point as Azcui/Jack took their match 6-4. Fevralev/Tiraspolsky would drop their match to Clousing/Antonijevic 7-5, but Meliana Lyubomirova and Tjon-A-Joe would seal the deal in a tie-breaker taking their match 7-6(2).
