Women's Soccer Downs Fort Wayne in Overtime

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team officially opened the 2016 regular season in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 overtime win over Fort Wayne at the WMU Soccer Complex late Friday afternoon.

Candice Uhl netted the game-winning goal just 93 seconds into overtime after Alex Ruffer tied the game for the Broncos to force the extra period with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. WMU head coach Lauren Sinacola earned her first career win with the result.

"In the last 15 minutes we really turned up the pressure and knew it would come," said Sincola.
