SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Western Michigan women's basketball team dropped its first contest of the weekend against Campbell University 70-61 Friday evening. The Brown and Gold were led by , , and Kaityln Zarycki in the scoring department. The trio combined for 40 of WMU's 61 points in the contest.
After both teams exchanged the lead in the first quarter of play, Campbell slowly crept away with a five point advantage after limiting the Brown and Gold to two points during the last 3:21 of the first quarter. Later on in the second, the Broncos would trail by as many as six points in the quarter Friday.
