CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan women's basketball team claimed three spots on the Mid-American Conference's Academic All-MAC team, the conference announced on Wednesday morning.
The trio of redshirt freshman Taylor Williams, junior Maddie Watters and sophomore Ashley Konkle earned the academic recognition. It's the sixth year in a row the WMU Women's basketball program has had at least three student-athletes earn Academic All-MAC.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
