WMU scored the first points of the game in the form of a jumpshot by fifth year senior guard Deborah Meeks. The Rockets answered with two lay-ups in a row that gave them a 4-2 lead. Toledo never gave up the lead in the first half. At the end of the half, Toledo lead WMU 32-27.
With 2:38 left to play in the 4th quarter, WMU had cut the lead to six, but it was not enough.
“We dug a pretty big hole for ourselves and the game pretty much unfolded from there,” head coach Shane Clipfell said.
