Women's basketball enjoys commanding victory in home opener

Western Michigan had a dominating performance in its home opener winning the contest 80-41 against Kentucky State.

The Broncos came out strong in the first quarter shutting out the Thorobreds for much of the first ten minutes. A staggering 21-point difference between the teams really set the tone for the rest of the game.

Senior Kamrin Reed contributed with 14 points in the first as she went 5 of 7 from the field and went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Broncos shot 45 percent from the field and earned a plus minus of +21.

Other key Broncos that contributed on the offensive side were redshirt freshmen Jordan Walker who went 7-for-10 from the field and totaled 19 points and freshmen Sydney Shafer with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
