WMU women’s basketball mounted a furious second-half comeback but could not hang on at Miami (OH) (10-11, 3-6).
The 70-67 loss marks the Broncos fourth in their last five games. It also drops them to 1-4 on the road in Mid-American Conference play.
The Broncos (11-9, 4-5) got out to a slow start offensively, as they would not score before making their first substitution. Sophomore Maddie Watters came in and hit a three just over four minutes into the game to get WMU on the board after a 7-0 start by Miami.
WMU would wind up with just seven points in the first quarter on 3-for-13 shooting and trailed 11-7 going into the second quarter as senior Savannah Kluesner had six points and three rebounds early for the Redhawks.
