COLLEGE STATION, TX. – The Western Michigan University women's basketball team suffered an 86-38 defeat on the road Sunday afternoon to Texas A&M. In the loss, junior Marina Asencio scored a team-high 10 points, while Evyn Carrier grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
The Brown and Gold shot off to a 5-4 lead after freshman Vinyet Morato and junior Asencio scored on back-to-back possessions. Despite the early burst out of the gate, Texas A&M outscored the Brown and Gold 17-5 over the remaining six and a half minutes of the quarter.
