KALAMAZOO, MI - On a day that saw Western Michigan's defense play one of its best games of the season, few Broncos shined brighter than sophomore defensive tackle Ralph Holley in Saturday's matchup with Eastern Michigan.
Competing against EMU center Dakota Tallman, a Rimington Award watch list pick, the Orchard Lake St. Mary's product registered six tackles (2.5 for loss) and two sacks, including one in which he stripped the ball from quarterback Tyler Wiegers, setting up a recovery by safety A.J. Thomas and a touchdown on the Broncos' ensuing possession.
The play not only endeared him to 24,282 homecoming fans at Waldo Stadium, it also earned him Defensive Player of the Week honors for the Mid-American Conference West Division.
